Mallorca - Playa es Caragol

Written by Tina, Marcus & Georg

Though Playa es Caragol may be accessed only by sea or after a long hike through rocky terrain, it is nonetheless well worth visiting!
Ideal for lovers of secluded and unspoiled beaches far from the madding crowd. Also perfect for those who want to try out nude bathing in discrete and secluded surroundings.

Thanks to the open terrain and the general lie of the land, it is physically impossible for anyone turn up unexpectedly from around a corner.
Of course, it would not be wise to break a leg here or be stung by jellyfish, as the beach is simply too far removed from the nearest populated areas and their medical help and pharmacies. Keeping safe and uninjured should be on top of any list of priorities here.

All who do not like the pungent smell of seaweed or kelp should go to the posterior (here westerly) stretch or avoid it completely. The shelf of the westerly stretch is not only deeper and more steeply inclined and abrupt, but more crowded, as it is a favourite moorage of yachters.

Thanks to the seclusion and inaccessibility of the beach and the amount of effort entailed to get there, it is quite scantly frequented and therefore makes it easy for anyone to strip down and go nude bathing in the relative seclusion it offers. Locals also take advantage of this wild solitude to go nude bathing.
It was also already along the 40 minute hike to the beach that we encountered the occasional solitary nude sunbathers among the rocks.
